How much do security camera subscriptions cost?
Ring cameras save no video without a paid plan. Blink, Arlo, Wyze, TP-Link Tapo, eufy and Reolink offer local recording without one. Google Nest keeps limited free event history. The cheapest cloud-recording plan for one camera is Wyze Cam Plus at $2.99 a month. Whole-home cloud recording starts at $9.99 a month with Ring Multi and Wyze Cam Unlimited. Compare 36-month fees for 1, 2 and 4 devices. US prices come from each brand's plan page; Canadian prices are separate CAD figures. Newest check 2026-10-28.

Every brand's plan, side by side
Free recording is separate from cloud history: some brands save nothing without a plan, some keep limited event history, and others record locally with the required hardware. Price columns show the cheapest cloud-recording tier for one and twelve devices. Open a brand for every tier and its exact free conditions.

Which plan to compare
- Count the devices first. A per-device tier is cheapest for one or two cameras; a whole-home tier wins once you pass the break-even count shown on each brand page.
- Check whether the plan is what records. For plan-only brands, cancelling stops saved video; for local-recording brands it only removes cloud backup.
- Compare video history, not just price: the days of history differ by tier and are listed on each brand page where the brand publishes them.
- In Canada, use the CAD price. Tiers without a published Canadian price are left blank, not converted.

For one camera, the cheapest cloud-recording plan is Wyze Cam Plus at $2.99 a month (US). For several cameras, compare the whole-home tiers in the table: Ring Multi and Wyze Cam Unlimited start at $9.99 a month. Local recording can avoid these fees when its required hardware is present.
Which security cameras have no monthly fee?
Cameras from Blink, Arlo, Wyze, TP-Link Tapo, eufy and Reolink offer a local recording route without a plan. Required cards, hubs or recorders still cost money, and exact support varies by model. Their optional plans add cloud history or extra features.
What happened to Ring Home?
Ring renamed it Ring Protect (2026). The current tiers and prices are on the Ring page.
What happened to Nest Aware?
Google Nest renamed it Google Home Premium (2025-10-01). The current tiers and prices are on the Google Nest page.
Are Canadian prices the same as US prices?
No. Brands set Canadian plan prices separately in CAD; we list them as published and never convert US prices. A blank Canadian cell means the brand did not publish a Canadian price on the page we checked.
